Molly and Muttly

Ein was being a snuggleupagus tonight, so I got a shot with him all cuddled up to me in bed. What a sweetie! If you're wondering, Muttly Dingus is his P.I. name.

Bazaar Behavior

I bought Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar for my DSi and I can't stop playing it. I loved the Harvest Moon game for the Gamecube and used to stay up all night long playing it back in 2005. Granted, I was manic and didn't sleep or eat much in the first place, so it was a good fit. But I haven't seen a HM game since that one that I thought had a decent plot and graphics. This one has both, and it's quite addicting. As usual, you're a farmer who has to farm crops, care for animals and get their milk/eggs/wool, and make money, all while developing relationships with townsfolk and deciding which of your 5 suitors to marry. It's a long-play game, which I like. It seems like they've made this one a titch more like Animal Crossing, adding things like fishing and the ability to paint your farm's sign.

I Do Knot Want To Be Here

It was my last full 8-hour shift at Marbles today. I decided to play around with this new game we have in stock, Knot So Fast. It tells you how to make all kinds of knots, but for some reason, this was the only knot in which I had interest.

CAKE!

Jordan, Mark, and John came over to play board games so I made cupcakes. There was enough batter left over to make a small cake in a potpie tin. Delicious and cute!

After Tubing, I Prefer a Nice Quiche

Nick and I went snow tubing at Buck Hill with Pavel, Stabby, and a couple of their friends. It was so much goddamned fun! I wore my awesome monster hat (which I think of as a Stupid Rat Creature hat but was advertised as a Yeti hat) and it got a lot of attention, both positive and "oh my god, like what is she wearing that is so weird."

We drank Jameson with butterscotch schnapps and I ate some waffle fries. There was a campfire at which we could warm ourselves and a lift to go up the hill. I highly recommend it. We'll be back before the end of winter.

Shadowy Bedtime

I realized just as I'd snuggled down to sleep that I hadn't taken a picture yet for the day. Having already missed two days this month (!) I didn't want to screw up yet again. I also didn't feel like using my stupid flash when my eyes were all nice and adjusted to the dimly lit dark. I altered it with Photoshop to make it a little easier to see.

You're Turning Violent, Violet

I spent today cleaning and organizing, which meant Violet and the cats got to play in the spare bedroom while I cleaned the litter boxes. After I finished, I took Vi into the master bedroom and let her run around, because I noticed she seemed bored in the spare room. When ferrets are bored, it's fucking adorable. They go flat, which is like a gloomy bellyflop onto the floor. After this picture, she decided it was time to claw the living christ out of my hands, so I put her down. My face looks happy, but it's actually the split second before I screamed, "sonofaBITCH, Violet!" and put her down.

In The Confusion Of A Smoke Bomb...

I am a blanket ninja! On the couch! About to sleep with the quickest of reflexes! In the dead of night, the blanket ninja sleeps ferociously!

Dado-ism

I built a tower of Dado Squares at work once Jessica left and I had the place to myself. Bored bored bored bored very sober and very bored. So, uh...yup. Dado Squares.

Twenty-Three Skidoo

My friend Martin had a themed birthday party this year. The theme was Drunk History, and if you're unfamiliar with the idea, you should really click that link. Anyway, my friend Worm posted that he had a great costume idea, but needed a female counterpart to really make the costume work. He added it was appallingly inappropriate. So of course, I said I was in.

He went as Fatty Arbuckle; I went as the girl Fatty Arbuckle allegedly raped to death, Virginia Rappe. I don't look anything like her, and I had 12 hours notice of the costume, so I had to improvise with my 30s-ish dress, lots of eye makeup, and a cloche-like hat from Target. I think I look hilarious, but I'm told I looked cute. You make the call.

I'm post-dating this to keep up the dates on each picture. Also, I took a photo of myself with Hot Pocket on 1/20, but I deleted it accidentally.

OMG SO EXCITED GUYS LOOK HOW EXCITED!

Can you tell I'm excited? Can you? That's because I GOT THE JOB! Yes, the one that I interviewed for this afternoon! It's at Fantasy Flight Games. I'm a sales associate for the hobby market division. Full-time, salaried position which involves traveling to conventions and trade shows, as well as case management of distribution clients. I am well-suited to it and I really think I'm going to excel at it.

They called me 2.5 hours after the interview ended and offered me the position. I CANNOT BELIEVE IT! I am so goddamned excited. It's just the best feeling ever. I'm not looking forward to the awkwardness of putting in my resignation at Marbles tomorrow, though. I sincerely hope my manager is understanding and doesn't try to make me feel guilty or anything. I think he's a bigger man than that.

Wish Me Luck!

I have an interview tomorrow for an excellent job. An actual career-type job, not in the mall. I'm not too nervous, and I'm very very excited. Hopeful, hopeful, hopeful. More details to follow; I don't want to jinx it.

(Man, I've got some crazy eyes going on. What's up with those weird little puffpouches? Huh.)

Shall We Play A Game?

I had a very short shift tonight (6:30pm-9:15pm) and there wasn't a single sale while I was there. Hell, there were only 4 customers, none of whom was in the store for longer than 10 minutes. What's a girl to do? I decided to play Pengaloo alone. It's the BlueOrange game of penguins, eggs, intrigue, sex, murder, drug warfare, theft, and memory. Okay, well, it's a game that involves three of those things. What is the primary objective? Why, to win the game, of course.

Wouldn't you prefer a nice game of chess?

Eye Spy

I was attempting to take a picture of myself without using the front-facing camera lens. Instead, I turned the phone around to utilize the better camera on that side. As a result, I couldn't see myself in the phone screen to line up the shot before I took it, and so the picture was way zoomed in. But I like this shot, I think it's cute.

Not much happened today, anyway. I worked eight hours, I came home, we had dinner, we watched television. Perfectly lovely, but not a lot to depict in photos.

Oh No, It's Almost Midnight!

As I was drying my hair, I realized it was 11:47pm and I had yet to take a picture today. I snapped a quick shot of myself with the hair dryer. Beauty be damned, I needed to take this shot!

It's good to force myself to post pictures wherein I don't look totally fantastic; anorexia has delivered unto me fairly poor self-esteem, even in the wake of recovery. Reminding myself that looks aren't everything is key.

¡A Mi Me Gusta Las Chihuahuas!

I went to Psycho Suzi's for a birthday party for my friend John Bohlinger (he's only 25! Jeez, he's a baby) and met up with my friends Dustin and Sarah while there. After the party, we went back to their place to hang out for awhile, where I got to cuddle Chip the chihuahua. Awesome.

Well, As Long As We're Stopped...

Traffic was pretty dumb both on the way to Qwest at noon and back from Jordan's house at 3:30pm. Lots of cars, lots of stoppage. At one point on the way home, we'd been stopped for a solid minute, so I figured why not snap my daily photo right then and there? And so I did.

I thought I was conveying my frustration at the traffic with my face, but I now realize my expression is more "So, here we are" uncomfortable first date than "Can you fucking believe traffic is this bad at 3:30pm on a Thursday??" Perhaps that's my problem all over: I think I'm conveying utter frustration and everyone else sees an uncomfortable deer on a date, nervously sipping a gin and making small talk. I'll have to aim to grimace more often.

Special Agent Fox Mulder & Me

(I forgot to take a picture on 1/11/11. Fucking of course I did. Molly FTL.)

I went to my mom's today and was hanging out, watching Archer. Riley came home, Mad came home, and we played with Fox Mulder for awhile. I scooped him up for a few photos; this was the best of the bunch. Thanks to Mad for being my photographer, and thanks to Agent Mulder for being such a cuddlebuns!

Still Sick, Miserable Day

Had an awful day. Time wouldn't pass, I felt gross all day, and we were dead as hell. Took this in the back room, while trying to regain some sense of well-being, but it didn't take.

Sick.

The cold Nick had finally caught me and I feel like total blah. Going to spend the evening watching Spaced and sleeping, in alternating shifts.

Blue, Red, Yellow (Hair That Is)

Late Friday night is early Saturday morning, so this picture counts. Erin, Betsie, and I squeezed together for a photo at karaoke at Mingles bar in Little Canada. Fun times had by all.

Trop de Boîtes

We got a transfer shipment in today, and it's gotta be 60 boxes. The entire back stockroom is taken over by boxes. Were I a wider individual, I don't think I could navigate the teetering doomtrap of cardboard that is our break area.

Yipes, Stripes!

After a busy day of grocery shopping, cooking, and reading Invincible, I finally got showered and dressed for the day. Voila, voici moi.

Kitty Glitter; Prairie Pub House

Riley and I went with our mom to Mystic Lake today, which was a rocking good time. We played a few cool new slots, Kitty Glitter being our favorite. Its reels featured headshots of various types of house cats and diamonds. Yup. I, of course, lost all my money (half of which went Kitty Glitter) but my mom, of course, won big.

Mom and I went to Prairie Pub House afterward for wine and gastropub deliciousness. While I don't think I'd return to the PPH anytime soon, it was still a decent meal and excellent company.

Jayne and Torsten; A Goodbye

Today was both a good and horrible day. Nick and I got to see Jayne and her little fella Torsten. He's all zonked out in my arms in the daily photo. He's the cutest guy, and we had a really nice time.

Then I had to go with my family to the vet to put our family dog, Chile, to sleep. He was twelve years old, he had stage four lymphoma, and it was time to let him go with dignity. But it still broke my fucking heart.

R.I.P sweetiedog.

Well-Marbled

Here I am at work, just kicking it all by myself. The store is pretty dead these days, which is weird after the crazed holiday rush. It feels like a ghost town.

Teppanyaki!

We went to Osaka for my mom's birthday dinner. It was a ton of fun and super delicious. I decided to snap the daily shot with the sign in view.

Nick's High School Reunion

2011 is off to a good start. Nick and I hopped in the photo booth at Kieran's during his high school reunion. I think these shots are as good as any could be to start my year in pictures.
